One of the landmark moments in making UMBC a greener campus came in 2007, when UMBC President Freeman A. Hrabowski, III signed the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment. Along with 500 other college leaders, President Hrabowski committed to put UMBC on a path to climate neutrality that would be achieved by 2075. One of the first visible steps has been the addition of green roofs to Patapsco residence hall (seen here) and the Administration Building.
