UMBC Athletics hit peak Retriever Fever in the 2007-2008 season, when the men's basketball team stormed to the America East Championship and won a nationally-televised game against Hartford University at the Retriever Activities Center to claim the university's first appearance in the NCAA Men's Basketball.
