2008 was finally the moment when UMBC’s men’s basketball team got to the "Big Dance" -- the NCAA men's basketball tournament. The men's squad won the America East Conference tournament on its home floor in the RAC in front of a national television audience and earned the school’s first Division One NCAA men’s tournament bid.
