When I first visited UMBC on Just for Juniors day in 2009, months before I started applying to schools in earnest, I had a vague but unshakable feeling that this was the place I would end up going to college. That feeling did not extend to where I would end up working, but I'm glad that things have worked out the way they did. It's been interesting to see how my relationship to UMBC has changed from student to alumna to alumna-staffer hybrid, and I'm truly grateful for everything this school has provided me, from the knowledge and life experience necessary to take on all kinds of issues to the actual beginning of my career. This place is endearingly offbeat and full of driven, motivated, passionate, creative people, many of whom I'm proud to call friends and colleagues. I'm glad that I trusted that feeling all those years ago, and I'm glad the story has continued.
