I value the time I spent at UMBC. I transferred to UMBC in the Fall of 2006 after completing my AA Degree at PGCC. I heard that UMBC had a wonderful Education program. I majored in History with a Secondary Education concentration. I student taught at Digital Harbor High School and am grateful for the experience I had. I graduated in August 2008 and walked during the December 2008 commencement. I also passed all of my Praxis Tests and r eceived my Teaching Certificate in Social Studies Grades 7-12. I began my teaching career in PG County where I completed my elementary, middle, and high school education. I taught there for a year before I was offered a job as a High School Social Studies teacher in Howard County. I taught Social Studies from 2008-2014. I received an endorsement to my Teaching Certificate in Special Education Grade 6-Adult. I made the switch and began teaching Special Education at the high school I taught Social Studies at. It was the best decision I ever made. I decided during the 2015-2016 school to try teaching at the Middle School level and I love it. I also work a second job as a Deli Clerk at Shoppers Food Warehouse. On a personal note, I got engaged to my boyfriend Ryan, whom I met at my second job, in September 2015 and we are planning a March 2017 wedding. I can never thank UMBC enough for the experience I gained.
